Department of Sanitation Open House

I went to this open house a few weeks ago and am just now getting around to telling you about it. I know that it doesn't sound exciting, but it was. They had a bunch of garbage trucks and kids like me (and some sad middle aged men) could watch them work and climb inside them to honk the horn and pull some levers. It was really cool, but I have a hard time remembering that they are called garbage trucks - I keep calling them dump cars. I was both facinated and terrified of the dump cars and a few weeks later, I still am.

I Love Carnivals

We went to the carnival this weekend and I got to go on the rides. Mommy took me on the animal train and I loved it so much that I wouldn't let go of the saftey bar when the ride was over. Then I went on the carousel with Daddy - we had a great time spinning round and round. Daddy is pleased that I like rides. We'll convert Mommy yet.

Local Vagabond Learns American Sign Language

I'm getting really good at signing - here you can see me using the signs for "read" and "eat." I have a bunch other signs, too, including: more, all done, music, help, up, bath, and strawberry.

By the way, I just want to address my appearance in the photos below. I tried unsuccessfully to undress myself last night. You can see that I was able to take my arm out of one sleeve of my PJs and I was also able to remove one sock. But that's it. So if I look a little worse for wear, please excuse my bed head and look past my experiment in disrobing. Just focus on my hands.

The Very Hungry Ari-pillar

It's 11:31am and this is what I've eaten so far today.
1 whole apricot
2 sausage links
2 bowls of oatmeal with flax (using two spoons to eat it extra quick!)
1/2 ripe banana
1 piece of string cheese
2 meatballs
2 extra large strawberries (ahhh, strawberry season...)
1 cracker
4 oz. whole milk
7 oz. cold water

At this rate, I might have to spin a cocoon around me and turn into a beautiful butterfly!

Summer Fun

It's summer, and one has to find constructive ways to beat the heat. And thus, my introduction to the garden hose. The mist function on this contraption has to be one of the best inventions ever. I had a great time spraying - first the flowers, then my feet, then - oops - my face. Ahhh, sweet relief from the heat.

Resemblance?

Is it me, or do I bear an uncanny resemblance to my Dad? Anyone? Anyone out there see it??

Rockin' Out!

I got some new shades this weekend. Apparently, the weather out here can reach the kabillions of degrees in the summer and that summer sun is harsh on little eyes. Henceforth, the shades. Like 'em?

Vegas Visit with GiGi

Mom and I hopped a flight to Vegas (Vegas, baby!!) to visit my Great Grandma Mar. She likes to be called GG for Great Grandma, but since my dad also goes by GG for totally different reasons, I've decided that her GG will be written as GiGi. Whew. Didja get all that?

We had a great time, and I'd love to tell you all about it, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so I'll just share these two photos with you and let you imagine what else went down.
